For the past couple years, your humble host has been involved with a collective group of audio improvisers performing under the name The Conduction Series. Courtesy of August Black’s software Mezcal, we meet once a month in a live collaborative virtual space and create spontaneous soundscapes around predetermined theme, with one participant acting as a “conductor.” Recently we had the opportunity to take a week-long retreat for a rare in-person meeting of the collective mind, a beautifully ear-opening experience where we executed a number of real-time radio experiments, including a takeover of my own show Snackpoint Charlie. We broadcast live on the first Friday of every month from 4-5PM EST on WGXC 90.7-FM and our next scheduled show is this Friday, the 5th of July. Set your tuners and enjoy the organized chaos
